How to change wireless access from local to local and internet?

Hi, I have two laptops and only one will successfully connect to the internet. The only dif between the two is one says access: local and internet (this one works) and the other only says access: local How can I change the access??? Please & Thank You!

1. The laptop that cannot get on the internet is not getting an IP address from your router. Go to start--->Run----->type in cmd------>hit enter At the prompt type in ipconfig /release, then when it goes back to the command prompt again, type in ipconfig /renew (make sure you put in a space between the word ipconfig and the slash). See if that helps.
2. You should be able to use both to access your network. I think your network may be using MAC filtering??? Log into your router. Give your wireless network a name (also known as SSID) , network password, set security/encryption to WPA or WPA2. Set channel to Auto. Turn off any MAC address filtering, Turn off any port forwarding. Set channel to Auto. Save and exit. Now try your network.
